The Fillmore Auditorium, located at the intersection of Fillmore Street and Geary Boulevard, is a historic live music venue made famous by Bill Graham. In the 1960's, it was the epicenter of psychedelic music and America's counter-culture. Musical acts such as Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Cream, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Creedence Clearwater Revival performed at the Fillmore. Besides rock, The Fillmore also featured non-rock acts such as Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Charles Lloyd, Aretha Franklin, and Otis Redding as well as poetry readings.
